COVID-19

 GUIDELINES

FOUND Study has developed this COVID-19 Action Plan, for welcoming residents to the building this semester. The COVID-19 pandemic is a fluid situation and COVID-19 guidance from state and local governmental authorities, as well as public health experts and agencies, continues to evolve. The health and safety of the FOUND Study community is our primary concern. FOUND Study will continue to assess science, public health guidelines, and local, state, and federal requirements. FOUND Study has implemented various safety precautions, policy changes, and protocols to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, which may be updated at any time. All members of the FOUND Study community, including but not limited to all residents, are expected to review & sign the FOUND Study COVID-19 Action Plan, prior to arrival.

Additional precautions FOUND Study

  • The residence will be subject to rigorous sanitation practices designed and provided by Ecolab, Inc., in accordance with CDC protocols.

  • Hand sanitizers and hand wipes will be installed on each floor.

  • There will be posted distance markers and directional signage to control traffic flow and occupancy in residence hallways, elevators, and other areas.

  • Residence lounges, kitchen, and laundry rooms will remain open and cleaned often but will have maximum capacity rules and adjusted hours to allow for social distance.

  •  Security will work to ensure that students are adhering to the FOUND Study COVID-19 Safety Guidelines and Protocols.

  • All staff will be equipped with PPE and receive additional training for adhering to and handling safety protocols.

  • All staff will be screened upon entry for temperature and COVID-19 symptoms, prior to beginning each shift.

COVID-19 Policy Changes

  • Residents will not be allowed any guests until further notice, including during the move-in process.

  • Residents are required to wear a face-covering over nose and mouth in all residence common areas.

  • Any time individuals come within 6 ft. of another person who does not reside in the same room (i.e., roommate), acceptable face coverings must be worn. The only time residents are not required to wear face-covering is when they are in a private room with a closed door or when eating in a common area.

  • Residents must provide proper ID to the front desk attendant to enter the building.

  • Residents are required to keep at least six feet (about two arms’ length) of distance between other people, in all residence common areas, including hallways, elevators, and outdoor building grounds.

  • Residents are required to adhere to all posted signs regarding the use or occupancy restrictions in the building, including common areas and elevators.

  • Resident’s temperature will be checked every time they enter the Building.

COVID-19 Resident Protocols

  • All residents should provide the results of a negative COVID-19 test taken within seven (7) days before checking into the residence.

  • Any Resident who tests positive for COVID-19 must notify FOUND Study and will be required to relocate to self-isolate for 14 days (if not in a single room). Any resident that fails to comply with isolation safety requirements may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with FOUND Study Policies and Procedures.

  • Residents should self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, including but not limited to fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathy, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea. This list does not include all possible symptoms. (The CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19.) Anyone with flu-like or COVID-19 symptoms must be evaluated by a health care provider prior to returning to the Building and when necessary will be required to self-isolate.

  • Residents should maintain a clean and healthy living environment and wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water (for a minimum of 20 seconds), especially after contact with frequently touched items in public areas and before and after eating. Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue and discard it in a closed container.

  • Residents who travel out of the country or to a state included in the New York State COVID-19 Travel Advisory, as it may be updated from time to time, at any time after arrival, must quarantine for 14 days upon return to New York and the residence. FOUND Study will follow NY state guidelines regarding travel advisories as they evolve.

We all have to do our part to keep our community safe. Failure to fully comply with the FOUND Study COVID-19 Action Plan could result in a resident’s immediate removal from residence and loss of any monies paid.
